Are you tired of energy crashes holding you back?
With my own experience of burnout and complex illness, I understand what it's like to struggle with a lack of energy, constant crashes and having to 'reserve' days for recovery, not being able to go and do the things you want to do.
As a Health Coach I can work with you to navigate burnout or illness, using HRV tracking as a tool to better manage your energy and get you back to doing the things you love.
Invest in your recovery now

"In navigating burnout what I found is that the HRV tracking has given me ‘scientific permission’ to actually lie down and have a rest and not wait until I'm absolutely flaked out and can barely stand up. But proactively turning it into - what do I like doing and how can I use that time in a way that sparks joy and allows me to recover?"
Jackie
What is HRV?
Many people think our heart rate is uniform, however there are millisecond changes in the intervals between each heart beat and this variation is HRV.
In general a high HRV means means the body has better adaptability and resilience, while a lower HRV can signal stress, fatigue, or illness.
Continuous HRV tracking shows much more than this. Measuring HRV throughout the day and night shows when the body is in stress (sympathetic activation) or rest and recovery (parasympathetic activation). This enables us to see the balance between your body's recovery and daily activities and stressors, and make changes to improve this over time.

How it works
PART ONE - The wearable:
We will send you a Firstbeat device to hire which uses a medical grade device worn as is worn discreetly on the chest for 3-5 days at a time.
PART TWO - The App:
The device is connected to an app that provides a detailed report with ‘stress and recovery’, ‘physical activity’ and ‘sleep’ scores.
The high level of accuracy allows for detailed analysis of your nervous system activity (sympathetic vs. parasympathetic) throughout the day and night. It can pinpoint exactly when stress peaks, when recovery truly happens (or doesn't), and how specific activities, stressors and changes to your lifestyle impact your energy.
Understand how activities impact you and feel more in control
If you have your own wearable - Garmin, Oura ring or Woop and would like to discuss coaching to get the most from your HRV tracking please email kate@insidematters.co.nz or call 021 462 731.

Jane, 49, came to me exhausted. Battling a complex illness and nearing burnout, she'd taken time off work to recover. Despite a strong understanding of health, eating well and exercising, she was still plagued by debilitating fatigue, body pain, and weekly energy crashes, leaving her frustrated and searching for answers.
Jane's goal was clear: manage her daily activities, stress, and recovery to get back to work and feel like herself again.
By incorporating Firstbeat's HRV tracking, Jane started getting real-time feedback and detailed reports. Paired with personalised health coaching insights, she began to clearly see which activities and situations were helping and hindering her recovery. With key adjustments to her routine, Jane is now managing her days better. Her HRV, energy levels, and body pain are steadily improving, paving her way back to the life she wants.
