An insight into the experiences of young people at greater risk from alcohol and other drug related harms in West Auckland

In a previous role, as a Senior Advisor with Community Action, Youth and Drugs at Auckland Council, I project managed and produced the inforgraphic report "Knowing Someone Cares".

Knowing Someone Cars is a qualitative research report exploring the impacts of alcohol and drug use, wellbeing and resilience among youth in Auckland, New Zealand. This work utilised community-based participatory research (CBPR) and was developed in collaboration with Auckland Council, funded by the Ministry of Health. This project applied New Zealand cultural frameworks, Te Whare Tapa Whā and Te Pae Māhutonga, to translate youth voice into actionable community health and drug prevention strategies for CAYAD and helped inform organisational change identifying the key factors that support or hinder youth wellbeing with regards to alcohol and drug use.
